London Paris New York starts with a chance meeting between Nikhil Chopra Ali and Lalita Aditi in London break-up in Paris and coming together again in New York. The film starts off with a great promise. The utterly charming Nikhil is a rich brat and a budding film maker and Lalita Krishnan is a well read seriously ambitious girl.

The idea is great, the underlying theme is interesting but the execution unfortunately is not. While the basic idea of how our needs and wants change as we grow comes across, but what could have really worked for this film is wittier lines, great chemistry and a lot more spunk. No, there is not total absence of these things, but they appear only in snatches and moments. The rest of the movie in between seems like just the stopgap arrangements waiting for those moments to happen. While Ali is lively and easy, Aditi and her character Lalita disappoint with their inconsistency in performance and behaviour respectively.

To further add to boredom, almost the entire film is placed squarely on the shoulders of the two lovers, with no other characters around them. This setting would have been great if the two shared sizzling chemistry but that really is not happening here.

What works for the film is the way the three cities have been captured by cinematographer Sameer Aarya. And the peppy music. And Ali Zafar's easy charm.
