Harley-Davidson an American luxury motorcycle manufacture launched a new version of its Fat-Boy bike in the country with a price tag of Rs.19 70000 ex-showroom Delhi .


The Harley Davidson Fat-Boy Special will feature a redesigned seat and a lower handlebar that will make the Fat-Boy the Harley Davidson with the lowest seat in the motorcycle maker’s portfolio. It weighs 313 kilograms. Apart from the seat and handle change, the Fat-Boy Special also gets a satin chrome finish to make for a new color scheme. The motorcycle also gets plenty of blacked out stuff like the wheels and the fork gaitors.


Some more black powder coating on the Twin cam air cooled V-Twin engine’s air cleaner and the frame gives more definition to the Fat-Boy Special’s appearance. The bend pipes of the exhausts too get a powder coated black finish, along with mirrors to carry on with the new color scheme. These are the main visual changes on the Harley Davidson Fat-Boy Special.

The engine however remains the tried and tester, 96B Twin Cam V-Twin Unit, which Harley claims has lower friction parts to make for more longevity and better performance. The torque motor is capable of a gut wrenching 125 Nm of peak torque that makes low 3500rpm and 6-speed cruise drive transmission features a new helical-cut fifth gear for smooth operation cruising on the Fat-Boy special very special indeed. The counterbalanced engine uses a primary auto chain tensioner for smoother operation. The Harley Davidson Fat-Boy can be now ordered at all Harley Davidson India showrooms for INR 19.7 Lakhs, Ex-Showroom."This model will be imported as a completely built unit and will be available across all dealerships in addition to the 14 models currently available in the 2011 line-up," the company said in a statement.According to the company, the launch of the model was in line with the strategy of introducing new models and commencement of complete knockdown assembly operations in India.
